My Month of Madness: A Journey Through Surveillance and Self-Discovery
Hey everybody, Michelle here. I'm back and alive, feeling great for the most part. Today is December 1st, 2022, and I wanted to share my recent experiences. I had to close my previous Facebook account due to a lot of nonsense and harassment, but I decided to put on a show for a few weeks. It was both unfortunate and entertaining. I hope those who targeted me will think twice in the future before behaving that way again.
As an American citizen and artist, I was shocked by how I was treated. Despite everything, I'm not bitter. I have genuine compassion and empathy for people. However, we need to do better at recognizing and stopping those who exploit vulnerability. It's disheartening that black women like me are still targeted for just living our lives. I'm just a writer and artist trying to figure out my next steps in life.
In the past month, my life was turned upside down by surveillance and invasion of privacy. They found nothing, which is what baffles me. I hope those who watched saw my struggles, my highs and lows, and realized that I have problems just like anyone else. I'm not ashamed of who I am; I'm a highly functioning, educated woman with struggles just like everyone else.
I let my guard down on purpose to show that I have nothing to hide. I hope this experience helps others understand what it means to be human and normal. We need to stop harassing people we don't understand. Despite everything, I'm still enthusiastic, joyful, and happy to be alive. I want to live a long life, explore new things, and be creative. I welcome you to do the same. Peace and love.
